Reflection is a style of thinking, something we do naturally. However, it can become more challenging when we are “fire-fighting”, dealing with crisis or emotional exhaustion. We react, do things the way we have always done them. By setting aside specific time, on a regular basis, we give ourselves permission to think more deeply about the things which frustrate or motivate us, to process the emotional impact of our work.
If you're thinking about introducing group reflective practice this toolkit can help kick start your discussions or request your copy of the presentation below.
'Reflective practice describes an individual or team taking time to think about their role, including what is going well, what is difficult, how they are feeling, and how they make others feel.' Homeless Link 2019
